The Golden State.

I actually miss California (btw I feel stupid for not posting anything about my trip there a week ago). I didn't have a chance to do much sight-seeing but I've been there in 2004 so there's really nothing new to see. I got to experience more of the neighborhoods (like when we went to one of my moms classmates house). I really like Cerritos. It's not too clean cut & not typically suburban. The idea of moving there doesn't seem that bad. But I think I'm more comfortable being a NY girl. I'd miss Manhattan terribly. Well, back to the tale.

Most of the days there in Cali were spent with adults (no relatives, thank Bob), my mothers high school classmates because it was their 30th (or 40th?) reunion. Dinners, picnics, formals...that kind of ordeal. The fam & I had about 3 days to ourselves. One day devoted to DISNEYLAND :D Lemme tell you, the kid in me was free. I was all too happy. And the feel of rollarcoasters....mmmm. Can you say, adrenaline rush? Another day we visited Santa Monica for some shopping ;) And we drove through Malibu along the shore. Pretty nice place. Palm trees everywhere (but then again there's palm trees in most Cali areas). And we went to Sea World as well....but that was ok. It was kinda lame compared to Disney.

Overall, it was a fun trip. A lot more fun than last we went...but I think it's because throughout that trip I had that feeling in the back of my head caused by a person waiting back home buuuut that's another story :P Anyway, I met new people, made friends, baked a little (as in tan...not weed) & got to see more of Cali that I never saw before.

Maybe now that I'm older, living in Cali seems more appealing to me then it did 3 years ago. I guess it's knowing that I don't have much to lose here is what makes me content with the idea and maybe I've learned to adapt quickly to new changes. Age is a strange & fickle thing. Maturation, I think, is something to fear but also something to embrace because yes, with maturation you learn more and know how to handle the real world better but with that comes awareness and responsibility and you realize how serious life can become for you.

WH0A, major mind thought. Sometimes I have to put up a mental block before I go on a tangent & over-think :P

I'll distract myself with some HP & Deathly Hallows. I'm on CH 25. It's getting pretty serious now. Another person has died (making it 4 since I've began). Yes, I have cried more...it's so emotional, I can't help it.

I love it :D

The final act...

So, about a day ago my copy of Driving Lessons arrived. I saw this at the Tribeca Film Festival last year at the Lincoln Square theater in the city. The director was even there to answer questions. It was awesome (& free!).

Mmm I heart this movie. I suggest you all watch it...NOW. Julie Walters & Rupert Grint are a pair. And oh, how I adore Grint. I hope to find a boy just like him for me to date :D

Also, arriving in the mail today was my copy of Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows.

DAYAMN.

I was jumping for joy & acting all giddy the minute I saw the delivery man at my door. I am currently on Ch 11.

Lemme tell ya....GOOD SHTUFF. I do not want to put it down. I've only taken a break to go piddle & to post a blogger :P

I've already cried by Ch 4 (I'm lame I know).

I vow that I will not emerge from my house, watch the news & go online until I finish that book.

I could care less if Hairspray is already out & The Simpsons is on its way this Friday....

Ok, maybe I care a little.

Rain, rain....don't go away.

Mmmm I like cold rain. Especially when the sky is gray. It's very serene and relaxing. I'm reminded of London and maybe a little of Harry Potter, hehe. But, really...when the wheather gets like this I just want to sit by an open window and just read or write. Before when I used to have my own room, I had a sitting chair right by my window and I'd always sit there when it rains. The radio would be playing in the background on 101.9 smooth jazz, I'd have a cup of tea and a book & my journal near-by. Sometimes I'll pause my reading/writing and just stare at the window and reflect. It's pretty nice.

If you pay attention enough, you can hear a difference in the way the rain pours. A harder pour makes a drum like, drone sound unlike a moderate pour makes a pitter, patter and it's very soothing. Kinda like light tapping on a hollow container. Mmmmmm. I love it. I cherish moments like that....

Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be busy with Holden Caulfield & Georgia Nicholson ;)

PS Maybe I'll go walk afterwards :)

Moving pictures.

Since I am unemployed, without summer classes & no friends to hang out with due to them being busy, most of my summertime has been spent watching movies (whether @ the theater or rented or jus' plain ol' cable :P). Recently I saw Transformers (kickass..I heart Bumblebee) and HP & the Order of the Phoenix (better than the last one & made my love for Harry Potter stronger). I also managed to watch the entire Star Wars series within 2 days, thanks to HBO On Demand.

Now my movie heart has set out to find new upcoming movies and I've managed to round up some good trailers with the help of IMDb & YouTube. Enjoy :D

It's July already?!

woooooow. That is ridiculous. I have about 2 months until I go back to school....whichever that will be. I need to get used to capatilizing my words. Back to months, I should really check up on where I stand with my schools.

I'm slowly moving on from a certain person. Let's call this person Crap Weasel. The Crap Weasel & I are good friends but he has no idea about my feelings for him. And I, with the hairy green monster on my back, can't help but be...emotional whenever Miss Drunk Lit Slut pops into the picture. And I just can't afford to let myself get the way I do. That would just be me repeating old habits that I promised I would not fall back into. Therefore, I am happy to pursue this path that I am on to rid myself of the Crap Weasel.

Eventually someone will come along and lift me higher and make me reconsider thinking that the oppposite sex is worth it or not.

You know what I've been noticing lately? John Krasinski looks a lot like this guy I met last summer during a summer class I took. Everything is similar...the facial expressions (mostly the serious faces...I've never seen Summer boy smile or laugh), the body type & even the hair. Mmm it's making me fall in love with JK even more :D I need to break out of those "tween crushes" as I call them because I usually had a celebrity crush around my tween years. No harm in eye candy though. *wink*

Still on the job search.
There's a new Michael's Craft Store opening up on the Blvd so I'm gonna apply there. And I found out that the Lane Bryant at QC is hiring as well. I don't shop there but who cares? A job is a job. As long as I'm getting paid & I'm out of the house.

I'm kinda interested in seeing License to Wed. Hahaha like that isn't obvious why. I'm not a big fan of Mandy but whatever. I always give a movie a chance and judge until AFTER I've watched it.
