Random #39

I seriously need to keep paper & pen with me at all times. I hate when I have a thought or idea in my head and then hours later it disappears. And I force myself to mentally remember it but I always miss parts or its slightly different from the origina. Hmph.

Jury duty. *gasp* I am summoned for Monday.

I'm still looking for a copy of Satre's No Exit.

Overly smitten with Anthony Perkins.

A night at Dizzy's Club to watch Ali Jackson & his quintet. I love going to these things with my family. My dad's an avid jazz fan so he always gets us together to watch shows. Omer Avital was my favorite of the night. I just love bassists. And Donald Harrison was a maniac on the sax (and I mean that in a good way).

I'm missing it now actually. The forest, the quiet, the pool, my room...

Bridal

My mother's co-worker was given a surprise bridal shower at Mt. Sinai (she was working a shift, no other time available hence at the hospital). I helped her out with decorations & setting up everything entitling me free food *grins*. It's really something when you're observing older adults getting together. In this case, they become loudly risque & raunchy. Minus the alcohol, mind you. It may have been the stiff dessert (rim shot) that provoked them. I had to partake in the surprise by playing bridesmaid. All I had to do was hand her the bouquet. Meh...

Simple

Random trip to Ikea the other day to buy some book shelves & doodads for the poconos this weekend.
I liked my outfit for the day so I decided to be even more narcissistic than usual and post it.

Shirt & cutoff's from my brother, tank from H&M, belt were a gift, oxfords from Nine West via Century 21

He & Her

What I lack in pictures, I'll make up for in words. She & Him. Honestly this was such a good show. A real talented band playing instruments, Zooey's singing, Matt's shredding. The whole band definitely took all the original songs up a notch like adding an extra melody or something to the end so it doesn't end so suddenly.

M. Ward on guitar - SWOON. The man plays his guitar licks so well and when he sings...mMMMM. That deep, scratchy, hoarse voice. A man who can sing and play the guitar is definitely sexy. And let's not forget Zooey. She is just amazing! I still can't believe I was a few feet away from her. She is just as gorgeous as she is on screen. She was so cute & fun throughout the entire show. During parts of the song where she didn't sing, she'd jump around merrily & shake her tambourine. At some point, she showed her frustration towards her piano due to it being out of tune. If only I took a video of what she said. So cute! She even called it 'he' and would make remarks like, "He's being bad tonight."

They did a mix of songs from both albums. I loved the way they performed songs from Volume One. They really picked up the pace to Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?, Sentimental Heart and I Was Made For You. And In The Sun was the best! I knew that would be the best song to sing along to. And they even did a cover of Rick Nelson's version of Fools Rush In. And the last song of the encore. That was the sexiest, most powerful cover of I Put A Spell On You. Matt & Zooey singing to each other. UBER SEXY. GAH!! That's what I love. Good guitar playing, soulful singing -pure & legit. LOVE IT. Now I want live versions to their songs...

Ok enough of my ramblings :)
