Hyperventilates.

It's here. It's finally here!

Its hard to make out the scenes. I saw one where Ron looks dead on the floor, Harry's running through a field & something is in there with him & I saw Ginny. The last bit is great as well. I need to read it again! I'm forgetting parts. I do remember Dumbledore visiting a young Voldemort & burning his closet hahaha.

Oh man, I can't wait.
I'm so excited.....

Copper bells & cheesesteaks.

Bonjour! I have returned...
Glad to be back in dear ol' NYC.

Friday-Philadelphia
Lots of walking & sight-seeing. Wasn't that exciting but was insightful & informative. For instance, the Declaration of Independence was not signed July 4th but on Aug 2 so technically on the 4th of July we celebrate when the Declaration was adopted (or ratified). I did NOT know that. It kinda made me want to brush up on my US history again *rummages through old textbooks*. Then, we headed to Geno's Cheesesteaks for my dad because he saw it on the Food Network & wanted to get one.

Saturday-Monday-PA
Mmmm PA was relaxing. Mostly pigging out, watching movies, swimming & late night reads. Oh, & shopping at the outlets haha. It was a great escape.
I wish we stayed longer -_-'.

"Ring loud that hallowed BELL!"

Carpenter' Hall.
(Don't mind the red, twas a finger)

The Signer (I kid you not).

Independence Hall.

Assembly Room.
(where DI was signed)

Shameless fitting room self photography ^_-.

For the house.

Cute lawn decor.

Messy & unfurnished.

Au Revoir, house.

I'm glad to have internet back tee-hee.

PS I wish I went to the San Diego Comic Con (BOO!)

7.26.2008

Peace out.

I leave for Philly. I could not be anymore excited :D. Even if I'm spending 3 whole days with the fam (*gag*), I'm looking forward to being out of the city. Plus, I've never been to Philly before so its a new destination for me ^_^. Afterwards, we'll be heading to the mountains (AKA poconos) and I get to chiiiiiiiiiiiiill. I'm giving myself a tech break (except for watching dvds O_~) and allowing myself to wallow in sunshine whilst poolside with a good read (SO, that means no Macbook & no iPhone for me).

Maybe I'll cook up there.....
DUH! Who am I kidding?? Of course, I will :).

Au Revoir, mon amis!
Je vais vous voir lundi!

Pooh bear.

I was rummaging through some old stuff
& found these clip-on Winnie the Pooh ears.

Home?

Sometimes I wish it was just my Mom & I because even in all of her overprotective, nagging, uptight glory we still get along & she understands me.

Ruppie Grows Up.

Rupert Grint has signed up to star in a BBC film Cherry Bomb
(he plays a bad boy :D).
Here's a recently released pic of him.

I'm so glad to see him in another movie besides HP.
And he looks hooooooot hahaha.

High School.

I found this in an old email & thought I'd share.
Although, I think some of these can be found in any high school,
not just St. Francis Prep.
The bolded bits are what I went through.

40 Signs You Went To The Prep
1. Brother Dom is the reason you came to Prep.
2. You kiss everyone hello.
3. You roam around the school aimlessly.
4. Your locker is never on the same side as your classes.
5. You never do your homework at home.
6. You have six different lockers for all of your books.
7. You have made the mistake of getting mac and cheese too many times at lunch.
8. You have an assigned lunch table. (more like same section we ate at)
9. When you were a sophmore, you pointed out all the froshies and made fun of their huge bookbags, meanwhile that was you only a year ago.
10. You're always late for cor.
11. Practically every guy is on one team or another.
12. You are in The Right to Life Club but never go.
13. Girls have a crush on AT LEAST one senior.
14. Guys have a crush on any girl that kisses them hello.
15. Even if you don't have H period, you come in early.
16. You've fallen down the stairs at least once.
17. You want to take World War 2 because Mr. Hessel teaches it.
18. You hear lots of stories about what went on during the summer, half of which aren't true.
19. You have faked sick to go to the nurse just for the tea and crackers. (more like to get out of class!)
20. You would trade Channel One for getting out of school fifteen minutes earlier. (never! I enjoyed Ch 1 everyday)
21. You get to lab early, so you can get first dibbs on lab coats, and don't have to wear one with writing on it.
22. Your locker always gets wrapped on your birthday ... even when you're not expecting it. (except one year -_-)
23. You say Happy Birthday to strangers with wrapped lockers.
24. You notice the school doesn't use the air conditioning or heating even though both are there to make life easier.
(YES! it'd be cold in the winter & hot in the summer)
25. You can make a ton of money walking around the lunchroom saying "Can I borrow a dollar?" (haha I did this with Matt Branch)
26. During the hour period, your teacher makes fun of the kids screaming in the hallways.
27. Teachers always give you more work when the end of the quarter is two days away.
28. When you come outside, every guy from Holy Cross is waiting for the girls out front -- no matter what time of day.
29. The only thing the cafeteria serves is chicken.
30. You hang out in the beanbag chair during your free. (I love that place)
31. You run when you see the deans.
32. You think Mr. Sugrue is the weirdest and coolest teacher there. ("Kentucky Derby!")
33. You've gotten detention for being a minute late because your teacher was in a bad mood.
34. You thought that square dancing was the stupidest thing ever in freshman year, but later realized how much fun you actually had in that class. (It really was!)
35. You've started to walk to a class on the west side after the five minute bell, and managed to get there on time.
36. You have eaten at Blue Bay, Applebees or Cherry Valley.
37. You started or witnessed a fight at 7-11.
38. You've ran to catch the Q88 Special to avoid taking two buses.
39. You complain about the food in the cafeteria all the time, but somehow you eat it anyway.
40. Somehow you end up at every event Prep has.
41. You laugh at all of Father Bill's jokes, no matter how corny.
42. You don't mind assemblies during cor, as long as you miss some of second period. (HELL YEAH)
43. Girls find themselves dancing the sophomore dance at Sweet Sixteens when "This is How We Do It" comes on.
44. You make fun of freshmen walking into the wrong classroom, and yet still do it sometimes when you aren't thinking clearly.

PS I am effin' HUNGRY.

7.21.2008

No perusing?

Does anyone really read the things people write (like my posts -_-') ?
Someone (*ahem* Bryan) says that he only looks at the pictures or reads the posts with few lines hahaha. And I tend to scan too when I read other people's blogs.

I guess I'll keep it to a minimum then....

Lazy folk :P hahaha.

Does it make you happy you're so strange.

The Smashing Pumpkins- The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning

This is currently looping on my iTunes library.
Its sexy & dark :D.

Sluggish Sunday.

WHOO what a hot, hot day. Too hot that I didn't bother going to the Santogold show in Central Park. It wasn't worth it. Instead I spent the day listening to her while making gemelli with salmon & marinara sauce (mmmm I could use some now). But something to look forward to at the end of the week--->I'll be heading to the city of brotherly love (IE Philadelphia haha) and then to the poconos afterwards.
I'm heading into list mode.

-Mosquito bites are quite pesky :P
-There's a mouse infestation along our block (including our house).
-We caught one today.
-I'd really like a fedora (like this one).

-Currently multi-tasking:
watching Little Miss Sunshine whilst reading Watchmen (up to Ch VII).
-Hopefully, this week the B- english class dilemma will be fixed.
-We can finally eat tomatoes.
-Random pictures

I'm on such a trailer roll.

And this time its a Frank Miller flick. Justin is interning for him too this summer and they had to come up with viral stuff for this one.

I found it!

It took me awhile but I found it. I thought they'd show it at The Dark Knight but its only for the IMAX shows :P.

"This town deserves a better class of criminal."

WOW. All I can say is that the 6 hour wait was worth it. In the end, it was SOOO worth it. This movie was amazing. AMAZING. *SPOILER ALERT* Christopher Nolan is the man. The dialogue was great, the action sequences were superb (the truck flip & the bike flip and hitching a ride off an airplane). That one surprise twist was great with Gordon (I love Gary Oldman btw) that people cheered.....and The Joker. I'll be honest I walked in there thinking that Heath Ledger would be a decent Joker. I was wrong...he was BETTER than I expected. He pulled it off (Oscar nom anyone?). It made me love him more (& made me sadder thinking that he's gone). I have to say the pencil magic trick & the nurse stunt were the GREATEST. Plus, there was one scene where he was in a interrogation room and the Joker was sitting and it was dark behind him and the only light came from the front of the room and it was enough to illuminate his face because of the white paint....I just thought it was awesome. He was brilliantly disturbing. BRILLIANT. The only thing I wanted was more screen time for Two Face.

I will definitely watch it again and this time at IMAX. I heard the imax version has an extra 20 minutes (even better).

I want this poster.

The previews were ok. Terminator Salvation looks good. That Ridley Scott flick with Russell Crowe & Leonardo DiCaprio is ehh. Bolt looks cute (its Disney so of course I'll like it :P). But, the one preview that got me all hot & excited was WATCHMEN. The minute I saw Billy Crudup and saw the yellow lettering, I knew it was Watchmen. That was such a sick (a good thing) & sexy trailer. And when I heard about 5 months ago that Jackie Earle Haley (who did such a good job in Little Children) will be Rorschach, the more I wanted to see it.

The song btw is "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning" by The Smashing Pumpkins. I think I'm gonna re-read the graphic novel. I gotta admit, if it wasn't for someone I wouldn't have known about Watchmen.

We watched the movie at Regal Battery Park near Ground Zero. We were there at 6:45 pm (thinking there'd be a long queue...I mean line HAHAHA) but there was no one there! SO WE WERE FIRST IN LINE! It was awesome. We got the best seats in the house. Like, I said it was worth the 6 hour wait haha. The movie ended around 2 am and we didn't get to Pia's till 4 am. It was a good thing the J had people. We didn't sleep till 5 haha.

Pia was tiiiired.

7:50 PM.

9:45 PM.

THE END.

-M

PS You can't blackmail Bruce Wayne :)

7.17.2008

T-minus 12 hours.

Tonight @ 12:01 am I will be watching the Dark Knight :D
We're (Pia, Justin & I) gonna be at the theater about 3-4 hours earlier so we can get our tickets (paid for already, of course) & stand in line, in case there's a long line :P.

I'll be taking pictures & post later!

Out of grasp...

You know those toys for cats...the one with the feather at the end of the stick that dangles in front of the cat. And the cat thinks it caught the feather but then in a split second its out of its paws. I feel like that cat. As retarded & cheesy a metaphor that is, its truly how I feel.

I hate this feeling.......

Well....I should make the most of my summer and try not to dwell on the situation. I've got thursday night to look forward to plus sunday (free Santogold show @ Central Park).

:/

& not get sick of.

There are many things that I would
Like to say to you
But I don't know how

Fall 08.

Can you believe designers are already previewing their fall collections???
Even Vogue is hinting at fall styles & trends. And I just officially started my summer vacation haha.

This is a piece from Marc By Marc Jacobs.

I love the graphic knit top & the printed skirt.
And I want those pine green oxfords!

I want this to be my 21st birthday present :D

Btw, happy birthday to my blog! I've had this blog for about a year now. And they keep on coming...

-M

PS I'll be posting pics soon from today.

7.12.2008

Young Whippersnappers & Old Farts.

What I did today:
-Trip to Target to get $6 lawn chairs (double sale prices).
-Watched There Will Be Blood (Daniel Day Lewis' character is a crazy mo' fo' and thats a good thing) & The History Boys for the 2nd time (I love that movie).
-2nd bbq with the neighbors downstairs (to entertain my Uncle's coming from the Philippines).

Tomorrow will be the 3rd bbq for the week (*GAG*). My aunt's holding a shin-dig at her place & my Uncle (who is a priest) is gonna have a mass there so of course there will be refreshments served afterwards (BBQ!). Hahahaha I'm gonna need to do a lot of yoga laterrrr.

So, what is my title about you ask? Well, whenever I'm around my neighbors downstairs they're always talking about the world and this generation and how corrupt the youth is. And I somewhat agree with some things they say (I dissociate myself from some of the things that my gen get involved in or from the state of mind they're in) but they don't have to assume that ALL of us are like that. Its completely ageist to assume we're all like that. Its like me thinking that all elderly people are like them-cranky, always complaining and senile. WHATEVER. Some folk, I'll leave them be with themselves. Just don't go assuming that I'm like the rest of the crowd.

Anyways....I think I'm gonna go to the midnight show of Dark Knight with Pia & Justin. I gotta buy tickets now though. Dammit I need a credit card!! What else is new?? OH! I'm reading Of Love and Other Demons by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.....so far its good. This is the kind of book that my Human Sex Lit class would assign.

I ♥ fat cats.

Chiiicken.
(LOL @ Mom's face)

Turkey or beef?
(What do you think?)

Their tea cups are so cute,
I secretly want to steal them :D.

One thing that also irked me today was that my neighbor's 50 year old cousin was oggling me and flirting with me *shivers*.
And, his wife was right there! Groooooss.
Find me a 22 year old brit boy, please.

-M

Midnight Munchies.

I'm craving a burger & cheese fries.
And a vanilla milkshake.

*sigh* At Stony, we'd only take a 3 min walk to grab food at Kelly or head to 7-11 across the train tracks. And at 3 in the am.
I'm all nostalgic....& hungry! Where's Bryan when I need him? -_-'

Harry's hoop is hanging in the hall.

In WALL·E, they used Hello, Dolly! references (especially 2 songs) & I fell in love with the song "It Only Takes A Moment" and I noticed that Michael Crawford sings it. I realized that he was the original Phantom and I had to see what else he's done (he has a great voice that I dare say makes me melt hahahaha). In the 70s, he did this comedy show for BBC called "Some Mother Do 'Ave 'Em". I youtubed it & I find it really, really humorous (its up there with Monty Python & Absolutely Fabulous). I think I'm gonna do some Michael Crawford downloading ^_~.

The first 3 mins are my favorite.

And this is the song "It Only Takes A Moment".

I love this movie :D.

-M

Freedom....FREEDOM!!

....to quote George Michael :D

Yes, summer session has come to an end at BMCC. My finals went fairly well as expected. After my ANP final, my professor talked to me about grades and asked me what I got from previous exams and she said I'd manage an A- with them so the final would decide if I get an A or not. I guess I didn't do so well because I just checked my grade and I did indeed get an A-. As for psych, I got the A (of course). SOOOOO now I have to go to BMCC & change my major & apply for the program & hopefully get in. I plan on doing that next week. I have no intentions of doing any school related activities for the coming weekend.

In a way, I'm slightly (like an eensy, teensy bit) disappointed with the A-. I thought I did my all and was hoping for the 100...but WHATEVER. My professor gave me a chance and I did my best.

On to non-school topics!
Yesterday was my dad's 46th birthday & we (the fam & my tita & lola) all ate at Peking Duck House in Chinatown and then headed to BK for some man-made waterfalls and ice cream.

DUCK!
(I can eat 5 of those)

My lola....the clinger :D

What a hobo.

The waterfalls.

My 4th of July was kinda uneventful (typical family bbq) but July 5th was an FC reunion day! It was great. For the first time I played Rock Band, and I AM OBSESSED. Seriously, the drums are my favorite. And I really, really, really want one. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with a PS2 for the meantime :P. If I had a choice between a $350 Marc Jacobs bag or a new Wii with Rock Band.....I'D CHOOSE ROCK BAND! Ok, ok pictures.

The cat family living downstairs.

Playing on expert level (I play on Easy -_-).

Baby AJ! (Pia's cousin).

drumming to Yeah Yeah Yeahs-Maps.

I was singing Metallica's Enter Sandman (98%, bitches!)

I love Agulo (fo' serious).

FC+J
WE ROCK.

We're all college students now. Kirklyn's going to NYU & Agulo's going to Hofstra. Three medical majors (Pia-physcian assistant, Kirklyn-pre-med, me-nursing) & 2 film majors (Justin-cinematography, Agulo-screenwriting). I LOVE US ^_^.

I can finally relax. I've missed my usual activities due to summer session. I exercised for the first time in 6 weeks and it felt gooooooooood. And I'm gonna bake/cook this weekend! I'm so excited. I plan on making lemon fussili with arugula. I don't know what to bake yet. Mmmmmmm....chocolate cake? :D
