Useless entry.
Constance Billard School for Girls is really the Museum of the City of New York. It made me giddy when I passed it.
Note: always double check your schedule so you don't add 2 events on one day. My little fiasco was all sorted out yet I wasted more money -_-' I have training starting this week until mid-march and the TEAS in 2 weeks. Très nerveuse.
Anticipating March 6th, 7PM. 2 words: Watchmen. IMAX. I already got my tickets.
I missed out on ashes. Oh well...Jesus will forgive me? Anyways, I think I want to give up pessimistic thoughts, cheese, not keeping my promises & buying green tea ice cream for Lent. Maybe blogging??? (No, never!) Let's see if I can do it.
Oscar highlights: Shampoo bottle, whistling, "Joaquin Phoenix", domo arigato, Slumdog-8 out of 10 wins!, "You commie homo-loving sons of guns", montages, new presentation, past winners honoring new nominees, Hugh Jackman (in general).
Oscar flops: High School Musical tweeners & Beyonce??, Hugh Jackman's musical numbers.
I have NO IDEA what to write for my application essay. A serious inquiry I was given about my future makes me question the path I'm on. Furthermore, how can I expand on one thought and make it enough for a full page? At least I managed to get recommendations from professors (who I adore).
SIGH. Stop-motion is amazing.

Random #15.
[Forgive me, I have way too many random entries]
2 important quotes I feel is necessary at the moment:
"You can't always get what you want."
"Be happy with what you have."
Let the Right One In is really catching my attention. I want to see it at the Angelika before it's too late.
Yesterday's last minute trip to the poconos was wasteful. My parents could've gone without me & my brother. Every time we go there, I end up oversleeping and overeating. At least I had a movie marathon (The Bourne series & A Little Princess).
Speaking of the poconos, I found some old diaries and journals among my books. I was around 11 - 12 years old. They're really hilarious to read. The entries are merely play-by-play's of my day. Emotional entries would be 2 sentences long with just a simple phrase like "I was angry" HAHAHA. And I wrote about a lot of perverted things (like sharing dirty rhymes with friends or talking about my obsession with Kevin Spacey...that I had even at 12!). I was a weird child.
Oscars tomorrow night! I've yet to watch most of the nominees (like Milk, The Wrestler, Doubt, Rachel Getting Married, The Reader). I hope Hugh Jackman doesn't do a musical number (even if the man is FINE). Save that for the Tony's please.
Besides being a talented actress, Rachel Weisz is beautiful & stylish. I love this outfit.
Fin to Fall.
Fashion is like art to me. It is so very aesthetic. Designers are artists with their own style and manner. These were my top faves from the past week.

Temporarily free.
Taking that test and finishing it was like having this immense weight lifted off my shoulders. I now have the weekend to recover. I'll compose a more promising entry soon. For now, I leave you with this excerpt from The Reader that has a quote I really like.
"There was one Western in particular that we both loved: the one with Richard Widmark playing a sheriff who has to fight a duel next morning that he's bound to lose, and in the evening he knocks on Dorothy Malone's door - she's been trying, but failing, to get him to make a break for it. She opens up. 'What do you want now? Your whole life in one night?'"
There's much needed sleep to catch up with.
Excusez-moi ♥

Red head.
Cherrybomb premiered at the Berlin Film Festival.
It stars my favorite ginger, Rupert Grint.
Counting down the days 'til this comes to the states.
Random #14.
I keep seeing tv spots for Watchmen and its making me all worked up. I can't wait to see this at the IMAX theater.
For once, I'm not bothered that I'm single this year for Valentine's. In fact, I want to go out with some girlfriends, get buzzed & dance the night away. Throw in some flirting here and there...and I'm set *wink*.
What an uneventful week. The only thing that happened was I dropped my organic chem class (for scheduling purposes), I'm making major school changes (which I'm excited for) and that Lily Allen dropped her sophomore album and had a secret show at Bowery to celebrate (which I missed but wasn't bummed because I plan on going to her April show ^_^). Plus, freebie stickers from my bro who went makes it better.
NYC Fashion Week has begun! Yes, designers already have Fall '09 in mind. To kick off, Charlotte Ronson showed off dark, gothic inspired pieces (I like that one-shoulder dress) and up & coming designer Jason Wu decked out his evening dresses. Ever since his DIY in Teen Vogue, I've been waiting for him to pop out with something new.

Jollibee has landed in NYC. So basically, Jollibee is a filipino version of McDonald's. Besides burgers, they have flip food (like flip spaghetti and halo-halo YUM!). All this time they've only opened some on the west coast in Cali (boo) but now there's one opening up in Woodside, Queens. Tomorrow's the opening day so I'm gonna check it out even though I know it's gonna be PACKED.

The escalator rises as it falls.
Even though I've been listening to Lily Allen's new album all day, I felt the need to put up The Kills Black Balloon.
PS I'm excited for the movie Tokyo.
Check out the trailer at my friend Ariel's blog :)

It is written Where's Fluffy?
At the end of the day, all it takes are great films to melt the stress away.
Slumdog Millionaire
This was a sleeper hit, hands down. I watched it expecting something different and was completely blown away by this great story. Honestly, I'm in love with Jamal and his fight. I love a good passionate character and he was it. And, that ending....Boyle took it the Bollywood way. I have nothing but love for it. I don't know why I didn't see this right away. I'm currently listening to the soundtrack because it is just as good (I loved hearing M.I.A. in the film). And, can I just say that I loved seeing Dev Patel in this role. Seeing him play Anwar in BBC's Skins to playing Jamal just shows this guy has something. And yes, I fancy him.
Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist
Hmmm another good one in my book. What an adventure. No seriously when there's goose chasing and venues and hi-jinx's involved and Manhattan, I'm sold. And, yea it is your typical teen flick but it seemed more than that. It wasn't one of those "must-get-laid" or "must-be-popular" flicks. It's about a bunch of teens going to see their fave band and just living their lives. And, I love it. It makes me think about the good times in high school. Anyways, Michael Cera is in it and he just always happens to play the lovable loser (type-casting?) and I still LOVE him for it.
PS What's with the title you say? "It's written" is from SM and Where's Fluffy? is the band in N&N.

Today's horoscope:
"You may be especially uncomfortable with your emotions today because it seems like you have a lot at stake. Nevertheless, you can be very direct about what you want now. If your needs aren't met you might doubt the wisdom of having shown your vulnerability. Don't use work as a way to avoid your feelings. Ultimately, staying in touch with your softer side should reduce your feelings of isolation."
How eerily true.

Random #13.
An email from NYC Moviescreenings:
"We are looking for Spring Interns. You must be available Tues-Thurs evening from 5p onward to help with screenings. You will be trained on how screenings are manages and probably see more films than you can handle. This is a non paid position and you will not get college credit for it. If you want this, you will do it for the love of free movies."
Um...free movies? YES PLEASE. I don't care if I don't get paid. Unfortunately, I have a 5:30 - 8:15 class on Tuesday & Thursday. And, I need Wednesdays to do labs (my Thursday is both chem and microbio lab -_-).
If I could I'd transfer back to a 4-year school in a minute. Hearing people going for their BSN's makes my goal for an associates feeble. That's how I am. If I know I'm capable of it, I'll aim for the best.
I'd go to this if I had a date. [click to enlarge]
I need to get back to my routine and quit being a bum. For 3 weeks its been nothing but a lack of meticulous reading, an over indulgent appetite, delayed exercise, an unbalanced sleep schedule and self-infliction of my emotional distress. Yeesh. And on top of that, I've been hired as a tutor for anatomy & physiology at school. Why I went through with it I don't know. I mean I have the A's for the class but its the thought of me helping someone on material that I might not fully remember that worries me.
SEX. What? Girls are allowed to have girl crushes ;)
Night walking in the city may not be the safest past time but I really enjoy it. Tonight, walking the 4 blocks to the J train, it was nice and calm and serene. No hustle and bustle since everyone's home for the night. A few people here and there. And, the dim glow from the street lights reminds me of a low-key, secluded corner of a lounge or cafe. Mmm how fleeting mindless imagination can be.
