Post.

At the moment, I don't feel like discussing about my unfortunate incident and would rather discuss something else. Perhaps by the end of the week.

2 days ago, the Sundance FIlm Festival ended. Mmm one of these years I'll take a trip there. Apart from Brief Interviews With Hideous Men & Paper Heart, I am also excited for 500 Days of Summer starring 2 of my fave actors, Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Zooey Deschanel. I mean, they're not my only incentive for watching this. It seems like a genuinely fun & quirky & unique film and it seems to suit my taste.

Gah, I'm in LOVE with those two.

Birthday gift to myself.

Kate Nash - Mariella

But Mariella just smiled as she skipped down the road because she knew all the secrets in her world. Yeah, she always got the crossword puzzle right every day and she could do the alphabet backwards, without making any mistakes.

Mariella. Mariella. Pretty, pretty girl.
Mariella. Mariella. Happy in her own little world.

21.

Before at 13...

...& after at 21.

I don't feel different, which is a bit weird. But, at least I can still get away with looking like a high school student and buy drinks legally *wide grin*. It was the usual family dîner at Minado (I want a pint of green tea ice cream!) and a pit stop at Roosevelt Field Mall (stocked up on some make-up goodies).

The festivities continue vendredi et samedi.

Quoi?

"On a family outing to the Lincoln Memorial last weekend, President-elect Barack Obama was starkly reminded by an unlikely adviser of what is at stake in his Inaugural Address. As his family studied Lincoln’s inaugural words, carved into the memorial’s stone, they began discussing Mr. Obama’s own inaugural speech, he told CNN. His 10-year-old daughter, Malia, then turned to him and blurted out: 'First African-American president. Better be good.' "

Spring 09.

Speaking of Thakoon.

Today: Got bangs & Thakoon for Target top.
That was about it. A bit po'd at this snow. It's never-ending. And, I'm seriously stressing over Saturday. I regret ever planning it. I'm worried people won't come. Ugh. BUT...tomorrows festivities are something to look forward to. Its nice to know I will celebrate my birthday with the inauguration of Obama ^_^.

Jaune.

Guess what my favorite color is.

Cœur.

I like what this guy said.

*hands heart on a plate to girl* "It's actually yours now. I don't know why it works this way but I'm never gonna be able to get over you and so from now on, every girl that I meet will be meticulously compared to you and unfortunately, none of them will be able to measure up to the false memory of what you and I once 'had'."

Reunion.

Imagine:
Elementary school kids from 1993-2001 vs same elementary school kids in 2009

Now that we're so much older, we had so much more fun with each other.
My voice is hoarse, I'm buzzed and my hair smells like cigs but it was so worth it.

HCJ Class of '01 ♥

PS My Bloody Valentine = cheesy gory goodness in 3D

Crash.

US airway plane crashes in the Hudson [nytimes].
All is now well. Everyone safe n' sound.

Kinda looks like they're walking on water.

Funny truth.

"Hey you. Yes, you. Do you remember me? I remember you. I was thinking about you the other day. I remember our conversations. You teasing me and me trying to retaliate back...although it never topped what you said. Just wondering how you're doing. Maybe drop a line. Hopefully 'til then."
-a short letter to somebody who doesn't even read this

Random #12.

The NY times did an article on photographer/director Yuichi Hibi & his beautiful shots of NY. There's nothing like black & white to captivate the city.

My favorite Family Guy episode is "Meet the Quaqmires". The whole Back to the Future reference and Brian's cover of Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" was just boss.

Ollie wakes me up at the crack of dawn! 5:05 AM on the dot. Then once he has his food, he goes back to sleep instantly. Cat's have the life. Eat-sleep-sh*t. Word.

The Golden Globes was the shiiiz. So many highlights. Kate Winslet deserved her wins. Ricky Gervais' mouth. The gorgeous dresses. And Christopher Nolan's speech for Heath Ledger's award was so heart-felt:

"After Heath passed on, you saw a whole rift in the future of cinema, but with the extraordinary response to his work that we've seen all over the world, I for one started to be able to look a bit less at that gap in the future and a little bit more at the incredible place in the history of cinema that he built for himself with his talent and with his dedication to his artistry."

If I had to choose between an intimate get-together with a close knit of friends over a massive party with acquaintances, I'd choose the intimate get-together. I do like a party but most of the time, I like the low-key atmosphere.

The way I see it is that the only way to bring an on-going conflict to an end is for BOTH parties to cease. Now, that may not be relatable to recent events but it could work. Maybe it has been done...I don't know. But, its really taking a toll out there and there has to be something done. Seriously. All bullsh*t put aside. COME ON.

College life summed up animation style. It really is spot on. Click it.

Gossip.

After last nights episode, I've been youtube-ing (I can't believe that's an acceptable term now) past episodes and I've stumbled upon these two funny ones.

Marathon.

Whilst in recess, I spent a great deal of time watching movies (at home...I don't have l'argent for the theater).

Why don't they make stories like "Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day" anymore? Maybe they do and I just don't know it but its been awhile since I've watched a movie like that. Its nice how the right characters get their just desserts at the end. Mmmm and Lee Pace with a British accent and singing? Mmm indeed.

Wristcutters: A Love Story is exactly what the title implies. A post-suicide guy looking for his lover. Despite the morbidness & plot holes, I liked how it turned out in the end. Eugene cracks me up and I want to meet Patrick Fugit.

I can see why Kate Winslet won a Golden Globe for Revolutionary Road. OMG I love this woman. Little Children, Finding Neverland, Eternal Sunshine....she is one of my fave Brit actresses. And the ending...what is it with Sam Mendes & endings. I saw a bit of American Beauty in this. Leo & Kate have great chemistry together. I hope they collaborate more in the future. GO SEE IT.

Return.

I apologize for my previous childish behavior. Who am I to complain over the pettiest things when in fact there are things at a higher extreme out there or more interesting things to discuss. I think that's another resolution to add to my growing list. Get with current events & important issues. I am aware of what goes on. I just don't acknowledge them.

Anyway....
I'm over my school dilemmas. I've accepted the school I'm in and I'm going along with *shudders* the associates degree...even if it means still having to take classes while I'm working in the future. The overall intention is to work as soon as possible (according to ma mere). Wait WAIT optimism, flowing with optimism, no pessimism. My grades for the nursing pre-reqs came through. I am now a pre-clinical nursing major (which qualifies me to apply to the program and start in September)!

I am thankful for this blessing. As a treat, I am baking tomorrow.
Cheers.

À bientôt.

Taking an internet break.

I GIVE UP.

Porky's isn't even open on Wednesdays. WHATEVER. I'm just sticking with my best buds that day.

1.06.2009

Screw it.

I'll do what I want to do. And I want to drink the night of my birthday.
1/21 8PM at Porky's. And, if you want to come, COME.
I'll be there drinking it up whether people come or not.

Delivery.

I love Hayao Miyazaki.
I should've named Ollie Jiji.

Plans.

I don't know what to do for my birthday. Nor do I think I have sufficient people to invite. I have such a diverse group of friends/acquaintances. And I want to go to a bar with everyone who is 21+ one night and then take the young ones clubbing another. Maybe that's too much. I'd like it if someone just did the organizing for me.

Just venting. Probably wasted your time reading this :P.

1.05.2009

Reality left teeth marks on my ass.

I dislike when days take a 180. Or more of a 360. This morning I was out of it (slept at 5, woke up at 9 so 4 hours of sleep) but I had to be early for haircut/DMV. Got the cut, didn't get the bangs. Kinda bummed. DMV perked me up a bit (flirtatious desk guy O_~). Followed by some time at Mac & Sephora (joy). Soon to bummed again by school decision making (stay at Bmcc vs. transferring to a place with a BSN aka NYU = OMG....Mom, why can't you make up your effin' mind?!) and a sneezing kitty who I'm afraid is sick. I love Ollie like he's my baby.

Read between the lines.

I want!

Aura.

Fuuuuuun. Ahhh...to get my dancing shoes a-going. Clubbing might not be my thing due to how packed it is and how everyone is on top of each other and how these random guys would pop out of nowhere and dance with me but I still enjoyed it. I managed to get my flirt on but no hook-ups, thank you. I vow to stop hooking up with guys when I'm intoxicated this year. Also, not get so inebriated. I woke up around 7 pm with the WORST headache.

Morning.

8:08 AM
Back home from Pia's house. Despite the packed club, the uneven ratio of girls to guys in our group, the 4 inch heels, the drunken stumble, the looming guys to my rear end and waiting for the long E train at 3:35 AM...I had fun. Happy Birthday to my girl Pia. Mahal kita!

Now for some R&R.
See you in the afternoon.

Another series.

From Santa.

When Ollie doesn't feel like being picked up.

Takoyaki! aka Octopus balls (quite delicious)

Regardé.

I seriously need to hit the MOVIE THEATERS. I miss the darkness. You are one anonymous person amongst others enjoying a film together. To be honest, I like watching movies by myself...not that I don't like the company of another. I just get somewhat distracted. And, there are so many good movies out now. Syndechone, The Reader, Seven Pounds, Benjamin Button...GOSH. I lack the time and money.
Quel triste.

Goal.

Last year, I gave up on resolutions knowing that I usually forget them a month after they were made. But, there's one I definitely want to keep for this year. Keep my excessive spending at bay. I'm good for a month or 2 but then the desire to buy kicks in. I should only buy for necessity not desire, which is hard. I need to stop reading magazines and looking at fashion blogs then. Can you say easily persuaded?

More resolutions to come.
